The Blockchain Built for the People, by the People

NewYorkCoin launched March 6, 2014 — a Litecoin fork designed from day one to be lightning-fast and completely fee-free. No ICO. No pre-mine. Pure, open-source, community-driven cryptocurrency.

In 2017, a volunteer development team committed to realizing NYC's full potential as a global, permission-less, zero-fee payment solution — establishing the New York Coin Center to lead the effort. Today, that mission continues with a full modernization of the codebase and wallet ecosystem.
